This blog is in Response to the Sunday Reading task which was assigned by Barad Sir.  It is a part of the Thinking activity. I am going to

present my thinking and understanding about the word Post truth. The Word of Post Truth is a new Word .  It is called The Word of Post Truth is The year of  2016 by the Oxford Dictionary.

       *Definition of Post Truth :

Post-truth, frequently used in the phrase ‘Post-Truth politics’, became central to political debate in 2016 . Largely in the context of the Brexit campaign in Britain  and the general election in the United States.

The term is composed of two elements. The first is derived from the Latin adverb and preposition Post, ‘after, behind’ as in ‘Post mortem’(after death) or ‘Post Meridiem’(after midday).

The second element , Truth, originally meant, ‘ loyalty, fidelity, constant, allegiance’. It was used with the now dominant modern sense of ‘That which conforms to Fact or Reality’. (JSTOR)

Relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influenced in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.

The truth has become so devalued that what was once the gold standard of political debate is a worthless currency.

                                       Some Examples of post truth

The post-truth era is nothing new but the algorithms that exaggerate bias and polarized politics in the world highlight that teaching excellent debating and critical literacy skills is more critically needed than ever before.

Post truth and politics is a course that has grown out of  the study of propaganda and public relations as media and political tools.

 Thank you…

‘As You Like It’ by William Shakespeare

‘As You Like It’ by William Shakespeare (Play) William Shakespeare (baptized April 26, 1564, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England—died April 23, 1616, Stratford-upon-Avon) is the poet, dramatist, and actor often called the English national poet. He is considered by many to be the greatest dramatist of all time. Shakespeare occupies a position unique in world literature. Other poets, such as Homer and Dante, and novelists, such as Leo Tolstoy and Charles Dickens, have transcended national barriers, but no writer’s living reputation can compare to that of Shakespeare, whose plays, written in the late 16th and early 17th centuries for a small repertory theatre, are now performed and read more often and in more countries than ever before. The prophecy of his great contemporary, the poet and dramatist Ben Jonson, that Shakespeare “was not of an age, but for all time,” has been fulfilled. He is a writer of great intellectual rapidity, perceptiveness, and poetic power. Other write...
